Zidane taking Copa del Rey seriously
The Copa del Rey may not be the highest trophy of the list of many madridistas this season but Zinedine Zidane is taking the competition seriously.
LaLiga and the Champions League may take priority but that's not to say the cup is not important for Zidane - it's the only trophy the Frenchman has not won in charge of Los Blancos.
The importance has been highlighted in Zidane's squad selection for Wednesday's last-32 clash with Unionistas de Salamanca.
Many expected numerous young Castilla players to get a chance in the cup clash but Zidane has not named any Castilla players in his squad. Only Sergio Ramos, carrying a knock, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric do not make the cut.
Big names such as James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale are expected to get the nod in a strong line-up for Madrid in Salamanca.
While the new, one-leg format, means less room for error, the squad list shows Zidane's desire to win this season's competition.
