West Ham keen on Madrid full-back Arbeloa
West Ham are interested in signing Real Madrid full-back Alvaro Arbeloa.
Arbeloa is expected to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer following the arrival of Danilo from Porto and the Premier League club have emerged as a possible destination.
The Hammers are looking for a new right-back with Carl Jenkinson returning to Arsenal following his loan spell at Upton Park.
Arbeloa has a contract until 2017 but he could leave the Spanish capital this summer and West Ham may be able to get the former Liverpool man for nothing, according to a report today in the Sunday Times.
The 32-year-old would add experience to the Hammers' back line and already has experience of playing in the Premier League thanks to his time at Anfield.
Arbeloa fell behind Dani Carvajal in the pecking order last season and the big-money arrival of Brazilian Danilo this summer will leave the former Spain international surplus to requirements under new coach Rafa Benitez.
