Van Gaal rules out Chicharito return to Manchester United
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has ruled out a return to Manchester United for Real Madrid loan man Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez.
The Mexican forward is on a season-long loan at the Santiago Bernabeu from the Premier League club and have the option to buy him for a reported €10 million at the end of the campaign.
Madrid will not make a decision until the end of the season but United boss Van Gaal has ruled out as return to Old Trafford , despite his good form for Los Blancos.
"Chicharito’s future? I have sent him away already this season," Van Gaal told the Daily Star.
“I said the same as I said to Welbeck: ‘You are again a substitute and I don’t think that is good for you’.
"When you score a goal – as he has just done for Real Madrid – are you suddenly different? I don’t think so."
Hernandez still has a year to run on his United contract but has been linked with moves to numerous clubs including Madrid, Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and Serie A club Lazio.
Madrid may be interested in signing the 26-year-old permanently as back-up to Karim Benzema but the player wants regular first team football.
