Summer signings on hold at Real Madrid
Real Madrid could be set for a summer without any new signings.
Los Blancos, along with the rest of the football world, have been hit hard by the COVID-19 global pandemic and could head into next season without any new recruits.
With Madrid already looking to balance the books owing to the Bernabéu redevelopment and high earners such as Gareth Bale and James Rodríguez still on their books, coach Zinedine Zidane may have to wait to bolster his squad.
The lack of revenue from ticket sales, sponsorship and marketing has hit Madrid hard and no big money signings are expected to take place around Europe this summer.
The short pre-season, owing to the postponement of the current campaign, will also play a part.
It means Zidane may have to count on the same players again next season.
