The transfer window for the winter market closed at midnight on Monday with no last minute news for Real Madrid and Atlético. Isco and Vitolo had a chance to leave but the circumstances didn’t materialize. The malageño was the one who was most willing to leave, but Real Madrid did not receive offers for a player who has been losing value over the last few seasons. Villarreal was interested in the transfer of Vitolo, who is getting no love from Simeone, but the operation was eventually ruled out. Madrid has offloaded two players in the current market: Odegaard (on loan to Arsenal and Jovic, to Eintracht). Kubo swapped Villarreal for Getafe. Atlético have incorporated Moussa Dembelé (on loan from Lyon for a million, with a purchase option in summer for 33 million) and have lost Diego Costa (without a team), Saponjic (Cádiz) and Manu Sánchez (Osasuna). The current transfer situation at Real Madrid is unprecedented in recent history. Florentino Pérez has not signed a starting player since in the summer of 2019 when he incorporated Ferland Mendy from Lyon for 50 million, an express request from Zidane. Mendy has pushed Marcelo to the bench. Try the sporting odds for upcoming liga matches at Australian casinos Due to the crisis the time of the Galacticos is far behind, for one reason or another, the latest Madrid incorporations have not worked. In the summer of 2019, apart from Mendy, the big bet was Eden Hazard. Madrid paid 160 million to Chelsea for the player but the Belgian, crushed by injuries, has never been able to settle as a starter. Apart from Hazard, Luka Jovic arrived for 60 million, (now returned to Eintracht, where he has recovered his scoring streak); paid 50 million for Éder Militão (the Brazilian played his third consecutive game on Saturday for the first time and was sent off after 9 minutes to complete a disappointing year and a half) and Rodrygo came in for 40 million. In 2020 things have gotten even worse for the whites. In last year's winter market, Florentino Pérez only made one incorporation, the 18-year-old Brazilian Reinier Jesus, for whom he paid Flamengo 30 million. The player started with Castilla, did not convince Zidane and in the summer he was loaned to Borussia Dortmund, where he has seen almost zero playing time. In four months he has played 136 minutes. In the transfer window he asked to leave, but in the end he stayed in Germany. The few additions to the summer market have not worked for Madrid either, where 3 players returned from loan: Odegaard, who was supposed to return to be a permanent starter; Andrei Lunin as second goalkeeper (with Areola and Odriozola having left) who was returning from his loan to Bayern. Check out the latest Bundesliga odds at francaisonlinecasinos.net. Odegaard began as a starter but lacked opportunities with Zidane. He left on loan to Arsenal a week ago. Lunin has only played in the Cup elimination disaster against Alcoyano, where he played terribly, as did the whole team. Odriozola is another fiasco: 258 minutes spread over four games. The team has settled in great at Atletico this season, led by a stellar Luis Suarez who continues to pile up goals. Things have not worked out well at the Bernabeu with the ageing squad not quite at the same level and the young talents yet to explode.
