Real Madrid injury plague hits Modric

Luka Modric is the latest player to be hit by the injury plague that has swept the Real Madrid squad at the start of the season.

The Croatian did not take part fully in today's training session and is set to miss Saturday's league clash with Levante at the Santiago Bernabéu.

"Following the tests carried out today on our player Luka Modric by Real Madrid's medical department, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the adductor in his right leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed," read a statement on the club's official website.

The midfield's participation in Los Blancos' opening Champions League match of the season at Paris Saint-Germain next Wednesday will also be in doubt.

Modric joins a long list of Madrid players who have suffered injury setbacks this season, including Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio and Ferland Mendy.
