Real Madrid closing on Van de Beek
Real Madrid are expected to complete the signing of Donny van de Beek in the summer, according to reports in Holland.
The Ajax man has long been linked with a move to the Spanish capital, largely thanks to his starring role in the Dutch club's impressive run in last season's Champions League, in which Van de Beek was a key figure.
The 22-year-old remained in Amsterdam this season but Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported this week that the midfield maestro will join Los Blancos in the summer for a fee of around 55 million euros.
Van de Beek insisted last week that he would not leave the club during this transfer window amid interest from Premier League club Manchester United. "I play here all season, I finish at Ajax this year. That gives me clarity and tranquillity. I will see what happens next."
That next move looks set to be the Santiago Bernabéu, with Madrid expected to give up the chase for French midfield ace Paul Pogba, instead opting for the Dutchman.
