Madrid opt against activating clause to buy Hernandez
Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez has revealed that Real Madrid have decided against activating a clause in his loan deal to buy him.
Hernandez spent a year at the Bernabeu on-loan from Manchester United and Madrid could have bought the Mexican international at the end of the season but decided against it.
"Madrid did not activate the clause to buy me," Chicharito told AS. "If Madrid want me next season they will have to fight with other clubs that want me."
Hernandez endured a largely frustrating year in the Spanish capital, only being trusted towards the end of the season when injuries mounted for Carlo Ancelotti.
Despite the frustration, Hernandez said he had "no regrets" about making the move and says it "brought many positives" to his personal life.
