Jovic the new Mariano
Luka Jovic's immediate future in the Real Madrid first team is in the balance.
The Serbian forward was left out of last week's Clásico victory over Barcelona and has been snubbed for a second weekend running by coach Zinedine Zidane for Sunday's LaLiga clash with Real Betis.
Jovic had been suffering from a stomach injury but was training normally in the build-up to last weekend's clash against Barcelona and has been training throughout this week with his teammates ahead of the trip to Seville.
Zidane has left the forward out of his squad again, however, with Mariano, who scored the second goal in the 2-0 Clásico victory, getting the nod once more.
With Gareth Bale, Vinicius Jr, Karim Benzema and Lucas Vázquez also seemingly ahead of the Serbian in the pecking order, and with Rodrygo having impressed in spells with the first team this season, question marks hang over the future of the youngster.
