El Clásico in doubt over safety fears
Next week's Clásico could be postponed due to safety fears amid the political tensions in Barcelona.
There have been large-scale political protests in Catalonia following the decision to jail nine Catalan separatist leaders earlier this week. Barcelona's clash with Real Madrid on Saturday, October 26 would be the team's first home match since the decision and there are fears the match could give a global platform for protesters.
Neither the Spanish FA (RFEF) nor LaLiga are keen on the match going ahead as things stand and have considered switching the clash to the Santiago Bernabéu, an option which is reported to have been turned down by both clubs.
Another option is to postpone the match, with a new date of Wednesday, December 18 being reported by Marca.
RFEF's Competition Committee will make the decision next Monday.
