Coronavirus forces Madrid behind closed doors

Real Madrid will play their next two LaLiga matches behind closed doors due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The matches against Éibar and Valencia, both at the Santiago Bernabéu, will be played in the absence of fans along with the rest of the next two match days in the top two divisions in Spain. A statement issued by LaLiga on Tuesday read: "In accordance with information from the High Council of sports (CSD), LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank matches will be played behind closed doors, starting today (March 10) and for at least the next two matchdays." "LaLiga will continue to be in permanent contact with the Ministry of Health and the CSD to follow its recommendations and/or decisions, prioritizing the health of fans, players, club employees, journalists, etc., due to the COVID-19 health crisis." Madrid face Éibar on Friday night with the match against Valencia taking place on Saturday, March 21 at 4pm.
