Carlo Ancelotti hits back at Gareth Bale agent claims
Carlo Ancelotti has hit back at claims from Gareth Bale's agent that the Welshman's Real Madrid teammates do not pass to him enough.
Jonathan Barnett hit out at the treatment of the former Tottenham Hotspur man through an article in The Telegraph at the weekend, saying his player would be the best at Madrid if he had more of the ball.
The Italian used his pre-Juventus press conference on Tuesday to deny the claims and said Bale is only thinking about staying in the Spanish capital.
" has never been to see any of our training sessions, he does not know the atmosphere," Ancelotti said. "Bale has no problems with his teammates and his teammates have no problems with him. He is delighted to be here.
"I really didn't understand what his agent said. He talked too much. It would have been better to stay quiet."
The forward has been criticised for his performances from sections of the Spanish press this season and has also been whistled by his own fans at the Bernabeu.
“Real have to work with Gareth and pass the ball to him mor,e," Barnett said after Madrid's 2-2 draw with Valencia all-but cost them the title on Saturday night. "Give him more of the ball and let him show everybody what he’s good at. He’s going to be the best player at Real Madrid when his team-mates work with him and help him. Hopefully Real will come to terms with this."
Bale is set to line-up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema as Madrid look to overcome a 2-1 deficit from the Champions League semi-final first-leg against the Serie A champions on Wednesday night.
"We are really happy with the season Bale is having," Ancelotti continued. "This is a world where a lot of people talk; sometimes they talk too much."
