In Wednesday night’s Champions League clash Bale was taken of the pitch shortly into the second half with another calf injury. This is just another of a long list of ongoing injuries since arriving to Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.
It is injury number #16, to be precise, an average of four injuries per season. Seven of the injuries half been calf injuries, five in the left and two in the right.
With so many injuries its no wonder Bale is struggling to live up to expectations. His first year at the club was probably his best. Since becoming a Real Madrid player he’s only played 59% of total match minutes, 11630 minutes out of 19650 minutes.
Bale is expected to miss today’s match at Sporting and is highly doubtful for the return leg against Bayern next week.
